Lou Patel is a freelance TV Producer and Director.  She has done a lot of work for ITV over the years and has worked on productions such as Big Brother and Happy Valley.  Lou is very passionate about changing and driving gender equality in TV (a sector that traditionally struggles with this).  She co-founded an organisation called ‘Share My  Telly Job’ which aims to improve the attraction, retention, and progression of women through better, more flexible working.  Lou and the team at SMTJ are gaining momentum in their mission and last month, Lou picked up the award for ‘Shaker of the Year’ at the Makers and Shakers awards.  The award is given to someone within the creative screen industries who really make an impact or long-lasting change to the industry.  Lou’s passion and dedication to the cause is infectious and impactful.
