PGR Ethics and Integrity Mandatory Training - NBD 348 In-Person

Postgraduate Research students at all stages are invited to this session, but please note it is a mandatory training piece for students in their first year which must be completed within their first 12 months, before Annual Progression (year one), and before data collection or research activity begins. This session is an in-person only event – if you are a distance learning student and cannot attend, please email ethicssupport@northumbria.ac.uk and include your faculty, department, and the date/month when you're training is due.

This session will comprise of an overview of the key principles in research ethics, policies researchers need to be aware of, best practices with regards to research ethics, and will explore the ethical approval process at Northumbria University. The key aims of the session are:

  • To introduce key concepts around research ethics
  • To help researchers understand which elements may be relevant to their projects
  • To clarify the ethical review process at Northumbria University
  • To embed best practices throughout the research lifecycle

This event will be held in Northumberland Building, room 348.

Please feel free to bring any refreshments, resources, or activities to ensure your comfort and to facilitate your focus at the session.
